
The Finacial Technology (FinTech) Industry is a space that is predominantly male, therefore as part of FinTech Lagos, 2020, there is the FemTech in FinTech Forum (FiFF) which is a sub-event in FinTech Week that aims at increasing female influence and inclusion in the financial technology sector.
Over 20 leading women in the financial technology will gather to discuss how to break down barriers identified in the ecosystem at the FemTech in Fintech Forum (FiFF), even as the Organising Committee has announced the first batch of speakers.
Other events in FinTech Week are; Fintech Talents Summit, Agenda for Cashless Lagos and Ghana-Nigeria Fintech Forum.
The chairman of the event’s organizing committee, Dr Yele Okeremi explained that FemTech in Fintech Forum will create a positive arena where leading women come together to discuss issues relating to leadership, female-led founders, bridging the gender gap, pushing diversity and inspiring the future generations of girls into the fintech sector.
Dr Okeremi said, “FemTech in Fintech Forum (FiFF) offers intimate woman-to-woman networking, where women could connect, create and celebrate each other. This year’s event will provide a conference track on Breaking down Barriers as well as Accelerating the gender inclusion”.
He listed the lineup of leading women speakers to include;

- Oluwatobi Boshoro, Fintech Expert, Digital Payment Professional
- Aituaz Kola-Oladejo, Executive Director, Financial Service Innovators, and
- Shola Olufosoye, Vice President, Information Technology FMDQ Securities Exchange
Others are Christabel Onyejekwe, Executive Director, Business Development, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS); Odun Eweniyi, Co-Founder, Piggy Vest; Temitope Akin-Fadeyi, Pioneer Head, Financial Inclusion Secretariat (CBN); Carolyn Folami, Head, Business Development & Commercial Services, National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and Ronke Kuye, MD/CEO, Shared Agent Network Expansion Facility (SANEF).

Dr Okeremi said FemTech in Fintech Forum is the premier networking forum that celebrates, promotes and entrenches the activities of women in the financial technology industry in Africa. It is scheduled for April 14, 2020, at the Tech Zone, Gbagada, Lagos.
